Established in 1980 in Lower Hutt, Superior Springs began manufacturing springs and wire forms for the automotive industry. Today, Superior Springs designs, manufactures and supplies a wide range of springs and high tensile steel products for a variety of industries throughout New Zealand.
What we do
Superior Springs works with high grade spring steel that has been proven to improve spring performance when combined with strong design. Our springs and high tensile products are designed to operate under extreme conditions, have a long lifespan and have been will improve performance.
Materials
We choose to work with high grade spring steel and high tensile material to create specialised springs and products. We hold extensive wire stocks, including spring wire and flat material and can source specialty material to be responsive to client needs.
Spring material stock:
- Hard drawn or black spring wire from 0.15mm to 12.70mm
- Stainless wire T304 from 0.21mm to 10mm
- Galvanised wire from 1.25mm to 7.10mm
- Flat spring material from 0.5mm to 2.0mm in Harden and Tempered strip SK5
- Stainless strip T304 ¾ hard material in 0.6mm, 0.8mm and 1.0mm
- Annealed material SAE 1055 in 2.0mm and 2.5mm
Process
We can offer a broad range of processes to complete the requirements of your job. Bending and wire forming using many techniques and specialised equipment to produce different spring designs. Industrial pressing and stamping using punches and tooling designed to produce spring clips and other components. Other processes include machining work, sheet metal fabrication, welding, wet rumbling and production assembly.
